When I got diagnosed one of the many perks I got was having a PWD card. It gives me 20% off on all restaurant, transportation, entertainment, and sometimes medicine.
I ran out of deodorant. Yes, I know disgusting. But that’s one of the basic needs of a Filipino guy. Cuz of the hot climate and all. So, I decided to buy me my favorite brand, High Endurance: Smooth Blast. It’s my favorite scent. It’s also very hard to find. So, been looking for it the whole day and nothing. Nada…
Finally, I found in at savemore cubao where I usually make my first stop from and to home. So it was closing time and all cashiers were closed except for the Senior Citizen line and one Basket line. Shy as I was I went to the Basket line though the queue is so long. Then, the machine broke. Darn, the store is closing. Think…
The Senior Citizen line was empty.
I shout out “that open?”
Lady: “Only for Old People Sir”
Me: “How about PWD (People With Disability)”
Lady: “You’re PWD sir?”
Me: “Oh yes I am!”
(went to the line. All where smirking. I showed my ID and paid.)
I could not wipe the smile on my face and could not help but grin at the Lady’s shocked expression. I have to add shorter lines to the list of perks of being POSITIVE.
Love HIV.
You look so young, lovely and full of live. Continue being like that. I wish I had your eyes to see life the way you do
Thank you for leaving a comment… i'm glad to have been noticed by a fellow…
Wow, Well It is nice to see HIV is tolerated so well in some countries outside the U.S. Over here in the states there are no perks that come with being diagnosed HIV positive. Well except for the occassional nurse that is cute.
Hahah… it's not really tolerated, people living with it are supported. you're lucky you have cute nurses… here we have frowning frogs… 🙂
