I find it all a bit sadistic to see the blatant irony of the Catch 22 that is Depression. The actual symptoms of depression … are the very things that are holding you back from moving on.

Hard to find a job of your dreams when you have a lack of enthusiasm.

Hard to enjoy things you used to love … when you have a lack of enthusiasm and energy, not to mention constantly tired.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is more annoying then the person who wants you to basically "suck it up and get on with it" when they're not the ones going to bed and waking up feeling shitty … and not just in our thoughts, but the physical symptoms of constant tiredness and exhaustion.

I can understand when people get annoyed by the lack of enthusiasm i show (I must say "I don't mind" about 50 times a day) but I've told them out right about my depression and where they can find the symptoms list to understand me better … and its amazing evident they don't read these things, so the question in my head becomes "how much do they care?" … I don't expect to be baby sat by them, or held by the hand through life (thought it would be nice) but if it were the other way around, I can honestly say I would do it for them … in fact I have done it for them.

So how does it work? If you don't listen to their crap, you feel guilty … but if you do listen to their crap, you end feeling like crap, for someone who doesn't offer you the same back?

Why does the Catch 22 effect of depression, always make you feel crappy and mugged off? Where's the clear distinct line when you CAN BLAME people for treating you crappy, without being made to feel guilty?
