Today as been an extremely long day considering I went from canada to New York and then back to Canada. Where to begin…
Woke up at 4:45am. and left the house by 5:30am. I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep on the way down so I just annoyed my boyfriend who wanted to sleep until I decided to let him sleep. We got breakfast before we crossed the border but it started to rain which was kinda depressing, but I was still excited.
We got across the border and using the new GPS system dad bought, we made it in time to see my brother play his first soccer game of the day. As everyone knew, I only went on the trip to go shopping, so after the first game my dad drove us to the mall. I would have driven to the mall, but I didn’t feel comfortable driving there b/c the signs confuse me (no offence). The GPS got us to the mall, but unfortunately our cell phones didn’t work over the border, so we didn’t really know how to get in contact with my parents to pick us up from the mall… so we just shopped.
The mall was huge! We managed to get to all the stores we wanted to. We bought gifts for my nephew, my boyfriend bought some clothes and I bought a new pair of jeans. "Skinny jeans’ are trendy right now, however I don’t like them, so it’s been difficult for me to find a pair that fits properly. After I thought all was lost, I walked into Abercrombie, and found a nice pair that was on sale and fit me wonderfully 🙂 That made my experience worth it, and they smelled nice as usual… unfortunately like a guy I used to have a crush on… but ne ways…
So after I purchased my jeans, I went to go meet up with my sister and my boyfriend and then I noticed my dad was with them. Just when I thought everything was good, he FREAKS OUT on my IN THE MALL b/c he had been waiting there for 2 hours. He made it seem like it was my fault, etc. And that just RUINED everything. It’s not my fault our phones didn’t work, we tried so many times! What’s worse is that I my boyfriend and I started arguing b/c of the whole situation of my dad having to wait. Nobody knew what time he was coming back..
So after a nice drive of silence back to the sports park, we picked up my mom and my brother and started driving back home. By the time we got to the border, my boyfriend had me smiling again and eventually I fell asleep on his heart.
Overall, it was a nice experience. I loved the scenery and just being away from everything, even for a very short while. It really makes to appreciate what you have and what you can have in life.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. My dad’s work isn’t guaranteeing that children are going to be able to work on the same shifts as their parents…
2. If I don’t get to work on the same shift I’ve worked on for 2 years, I’m not working there which would leave me unemployed, and I hate interviews so that would not make me happy at all…
3. I’m not looking fwd to even working with my dad after everything I’ve been through
4. I have to start studying for exams this week seeing…
5. I’m looking fwd to visiting my friend in the summer for a girl’s weekend.
6. I really wish my boyfriend and I could go to Montreal this summer, but I don’t think we’ll be able to with his work schedule.
Well apart from your dad being a dad ( Frusturating I know) it seems you had a good time. Mind you shopping is usually a fun time no matter what.
I just have a question.. What is Abercrombie? is that a shop or a brand or something? (please excuse my Australianess here!)
