Context:
Nepal received 11 Million dollars in 2003 from the Global
Fund when the country was in the middle of a bloody conflict that took away
13000 lives. The HIV/AIDS projects that are highlighted in the above mentioned
site happened to be in one of the worst conflict hit district. Despite of the raging
war local NGOs, specially people living with AIDS risked their lives in
implementing this project and making it successful. On the other hand Global
Fund proved that it’s a unique mechanism that is capable of fighting back AIDS
in any kind of situations. However, out of over 10 Billion dollars that the Global
Fund has disbursed so far globally, Nepal has only been able to secure 11
million and that too is ending this September.
A 36 Million dollar grant approved by the Global Fund in
2007 is currently in jeopardy and we need your support to nicely ask the Global Fund to help Nepal continue the good work.
Your feedbacks will be really helpful to save
thousands of lives.
