Last week was long and great, Ever have one of those? Although it started off monday with my eye a little sore and my left elbow sore as well. Tuesday, meeting day, Eye is getting to be a distraction and left elbow i can not bend with out some pain. Wednesday eye remains bothersome and elbow is to the point where i can not even bend my arm up to pull my shirt off with out almost tears in my eye, Skipped Chruch that night.Thrusday runs about the same. Friday I can bend my elbow with just a bit more ease. eye the same. Got done with work . Went to Celebrate Recovery, tried to help prepare food, but , became light headed, so went home. Friday night i wake up at 2 a.m. in major pain. Left leg on my calf has a Charlie horse when i stretched in my sleep. I pull it up and that starts another muscle cramp on top of my leg, then another on inside of my thigh. By this time I have somehow fallen outta bed and am leaned up beside the bathroom door 3 -4 feet away curled up. I guess my left leg gets jealous and it starts cramping on its thigh. Finally after some time passed, they eased up and i hobbled on int the bathroom and turned on hot water for shower, while i waited on side of tub. So now i am up for the day. Get to work saturday morning and realize my elbow feels great!! Woo!! Hoo!! An hour after I realize that, that part of my body is feeling good. A wasp stings me in the same elbow(I will add that the older i get, The more alergic to them i get). Thank God! He must of held back his stinger somewhat. It did eventually swell and get inflamed, but nothing like the last time I was stung. So it was more like a constant irritation than true pain. Make it thru the rest of the day wobbling on my right leg which feels like someone slamed me with a baseball bat because of the cramp i had , had in my calf. Squinting out one eye cause the other has gotten "puffy" and hard to see out of. and a swelling elbow. lol Okay, keep in mind i have been up since 2 am and now off to C.R. where we are have a Auction/Dinner for our annual fundraiser. WE cook up Cajun Roast, Maple Walnut greenBeans, Mashed potatoes and gravy, and rolls. and Strawberry cake with creamcheese icing for desert(Yes it was great, made a pig outta myself ) We cooked for 250 people. WE got everyone served and fed, tables wiped back off. Coffee passed around. Auction time!! 6:30ish. I get asked to help bring the stuff out and display it while the auctioneer does his thing.(by this time i just wanna sit down and wtach or maybe even bid on a few things) So there is 6 of us parading merchandise around(like we showing off for the "Prices Right"). I must say it was fun tho. One guy bought an Italian Creme cake for $100 and told them to break the plates out. he shared with as many people as he could. Funniest event of the night was, Someone brough a chicken in a pet carrier to be auctioned off. The neat part was, that when ya got high bid, you got the chicken and went out into the audience and gave it to someone. They had to keep it for 10 minutes and If they didn`t want it, They could pay the auctioneer $5 to auction it off again. It made the rounds several times. This little chicken by itself raised $360.
Our chruch gives us a $6,000 a year budget, We operate on a $12,000 budget, So we have this fundraiser and a smaller one every year. We raised $10,000 for our Celebrate Recovery`s budget. I was blown away, I am very impressed with our comunity, They came out and showed there support, for a Group that is designed to help those with Hurts, Habits and Hangups………….Ya know for awhile that night, I had no pains. I was riding High on the fellowship of others around me. It feels good to be apart of something, bigger than yaself. I give God the credit for allowing me to be a part of it, not still out in the world. .. we finished it up and cleaned up. Think I finally made it to bed about 11 Saturday night. …. And slept like a log, first time all week. I have now got some multivitamins and such and am taking them for the potassium and other stuff, I think I have not been getting enough of. Will give my eye a few more days and see (no pun intended) what develops with that. Someone said looked like "pink eye". Time will tell. My week was long and hard on the flesh, but metally and spiritually it was worth it all!!
