Hi all,

Well, recovering pretty well from the wisdom teeth extractions.  Since I'm not nearly as wise I was I thought I would ask you all for a little help.

So as I've said already, I'm a legally blind artist writing a book about living your dreams.  I've been wanting make some new art work that reflects what I'm writing about a little more directly.

I got some great comments when I first brought this up, so I want to go a bit deeper.

I think that if we can own some of our harder to except emotions, them they are not as likely to own us.  Does that make sense?

If, for example, I can own that I have anxiety then I can live "with" it a bit easer.  It is less likely to cripple me.

So my question to you is, what emotion do you feel like you wish you could own.  Not have control over, that's not what I'm saying. You might think that your emotions are unexceptable but I disagree.  If you fight with your emotions they tend to win, if you say, "okay anxiety, you wanta stick around…Fine, suit-up cause we're going to the movies!"  Otherwise you're going to say "I can't go to the movies, I have anxiety."  What sounds better?

So I can go first, that's only fare.  I want to be able to own feelings of fear so it does not have the power to dictate what I do, or how I do it.

Anyone?

I'll explain how these ideas will translate into a piece of art work as I make sense of it myself.  Even if I can't figure out visual, I think this might be an interesting conversation.

Thanks,

Rach

I think all answers are appropriate Little15.  I How does anger help you produce and support?  Just wondering.  I can see it getting your energy going but also like you said being something that can overwhelm you.
