Grades are getting low

teens are getting high

that 12 year old is pregnant and her parents wonder why

A 1st grader is swearing

a 3rd grader has been raped

just take a look at the system isn’t it great?

who isn’t faded these days

teens are sending nudes

kids are getting beaten

the teachers see the bruises

No calls for helps are spoken

teens are smoking weed

Young girls are cutting

This ISNT what we need

the marks of taunt and yelling

Parents are divorced

that 14 year old is drinking bear

this can’t get any worse

a little girl has killed herself

nobody seems to care

another kid has been expelled for a stupid dare

But it needs to change

our world is officially broken

I know I didn’t write this but it has a powerful message. The system and world are fucked up and parents as a whole don’t help. Like my fried Z, she has really bad anxiety and she had a speaking project at school. She begged her parents and teachers too give her another assignment: they refused saying “everyone gets nervous, you need to get over it.” She had a panic attack so bad she passed out and spent time in the hospital. Then her parents bitched at her for not telling them this will happen. Now she is labeled an “attention whore” after that. She killed herself two weeks ago. We as a broken community; a broken family on this cite we need to remember to NOT let them silence us due to our mental illnesses. People I know with depression have the best ideas, the ones with anxiety have the best plans, one of my friends who is covered with scars is always there to take care of her friends, my friend who is anorexic always reminds us that we are beautiful. Just because we have mental illnesses doesn’t mean we don’t have ideas to change things.

In this world girls are taught from the start that boys are more important. “Boys never   mature and if they do it’s after you girls.” No girls are punished for things that are accepted in boys for a long time. Guys, respect girls. They are some of the toughest people I know, trust me. Guys don’t let them silence you. “For every time that they want to count you out, And use your voice every single time you open up your mouth.” My Chemical Romance Sing! That is the long that inspired this. I recommend it.
