It can be easier and focus on problems, challenges, traumas and negative life events versus the treasures. What was good? What went right?
I was reading on a website a list of toxic behaviors that others find undesirable.
One of these is forgetting the good that was on your life in the past and in the present.
Here is my list
————————
I was very loved as a child by neighborhood who was a Grandmother
The teacher who encouraged me the most
The speech therapist who gave me food as a child after speech therapy
All the boyfriends moms (except for my husband’s mom) always thought highly of me (One even wrote me a really sweet letter that I still own.)
My husband accepts his mother for who she is and gives up on her being decent to me. She tried to both prevent and break up our marriage but instead she freed me of any obligations to her with future health problems by being so open with her hate for me! How nice for me!
Peanut butter bars in elementary school cafeteria
Pizza day in the school cafeteria
The nice man at the store in Tennessee who talked me when I was a child and made me feel special
The nice lady at the dining place who said so many sweet things to me after we talked that I will never forget She said that I was like the daughter she wished she could of had and that I was a good mom etc
Mr. Rogers told me as a child on television that he loved me just the way I was and that I was special He was the husband material and the future father of my children. I compared boyfriends to him and married the one that seems most like Me. Rogers. He and my husband are both kind and nurturing Did you know that the sweaters he wore on the show were knitted by his mom? He stayed married to his wife and was a good dad to his children.
The many talented authors who wrote books that I enjoyed and enjoy
The ability to see sun rises and sunsets (and to take pictures of them.)
My amazing imagination
Knitting
All of the really good hair cuts I have done and still do for myself
I was really just naturally good at any thing other than team sports (ice skating, roller blading, water skiing, climbing trees, shooting baskets, gymnastics naturally.) Then, I broke a foot and the the ankle…
My speed reading and excellent reading comprehension ability
The many sweet dogs that I have had and loved and the one that we have now.
The way that houseplants show that I make a difference taking good care of them by being healthy!
The many meals I have cooked and desserts that I have made in our kitchen.
The way the wood floor feels under my bare feet
The way grass feels under my bare feet.
The fact that my favorite seasons come every year!
Brand new journals and notebooks
Gel pens
Eating favorite fruits!
Knowing that good things will happen in the future
Having shelter and storage place to keep things that I need. own and value
Looking back on past at the good parts as much I look forward to good parts of the future
Mint gum and everything mint!
