So, I was asked to help with coordinating the Christmas tree and tree trimming event. I answered \”I can ” I started out by sending an email out that no body responded to.

Good Afternoon,

It is that time a year again for the Christmas tree to go up. We could use a hand. Would any of you be available to bring the tree out and set the tree up anytime between now and the middle of next week?\”

Then I get a message from the HR.. out of the blue

“Morning!  I just sent an email about the tree trimming – I will be speaking with the janitor probably tomorrow.  Could you print two copies of the flyer and put one on the bulletin board and one in the mail room?  Thank you!”

I feel like I was undercut.

Well what else. This same HR asked me to locate someone\’s paycheck over a month ago.  Then she blasted me in an email with my boss included about expectations and confidentially. Because I asked the employee to check their mailbox.

I spoke to my boss, and he told me that business is business and accused me of over reacting and told me he felt that when they add more responsibilities that I don\’t know how to handle them. I feel bullied all the way around.

The reason I was hesitant about putting the tree up is because the janitorial person is a harsh person to deal with. No body deals with him but me. He has lack of boundaries and when asked to make a pot of coffee he says, I am sorry that is not in my job description.  People come up to me and ask for everything they need.  I have a couple of applications out other places. I really don\’t appreciate this.
