Hello Everyone, Yesterday I shared a conversation which I particularly enjoyed, and thought I might share some of it : I am a strong believer that having Faith in and of itself does not depend on belief in a specific Deity or Spirit. Whatever you want to call them. *

My brain goes off on a tangent here: When I “pray” I am usually praying to the nature that helped us evolve into who we are today. I have studied many, many different religions, and I feel a strong connection to Wicca and other Indigenous belief systems. If you are interested in a specific belief system, go to a web site put up by it’s members and read the description they give to their ~own~ beliefs. Actually, this is how I would recommend learning about any religion. Talk to people –within– that faith system. Of course it is important to be direct, respectful and honest with your questions. And, be willing to listen with an open heart, free from judgement, before jumping to -any- conclusions.

And the tangent comes back to our conversation – Are you telling me that you have never gone to a place, seen an event (with your own eyes), or met a person who gave you a sense of having an energy beyond our physical bodies? This is what I think of when I think of “Spirit”. I feel it when I cross over the crest of a large hill and see the great expanse of nature unfold in front of me. the ocean from a beach, or the grand view of stars and planets in the night sky. I feel it when I see a young child pull a friend to their feet. Or a group of people helping to collect groceries spilled from a ripped bag. I imagine that “Spirit” is something that grows stronger when more people share the experience and feeling. 🙂 Recognizing it in all of its glory.

There are examples of spirit all around us, we just need to open out eyes a little wider to recognize it. Just watch a mother: human, feline, canine, equine… give birth and then tell me there isn’t another energy out there. I compare this to when I see the remains of an animal along the side of a road, I can see that pile of ___ and wonder how it could possibly be that these “things” were once part of a living being? Something gave those elements the energy to be alive. 🙂 This is what I think of when I try to think of Spirit. It helped to create all of us. Of course, you are welcome to believe in whatever brings you some inner sense of yourself…

Sending all of you hopes of understanding, empathy, peace, hope and prayers. – Iris
