I’ve been thinking about the Elements lately. I’ve seen billboards for a Disney movie called Elemental, and see the little characters each representing an element. I’d like to see it, though I’m not a fan of Disney in general. Anyway, the Elements. I capitalize Elements when I’m talking about the spiritual aspect of Earth’s elements. The five Elements are Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. Today I’m thinking about Water.
All Water is Sacred… the water we wash our hands with, make coffee and tea with, drink or mix into drinks, the water we wash our bodies with, the water we wash our homes with, the water our children play in. Tap water is sacred, simply because it is Water. Any water can become blessed water when held and spoken to with Intention.
I am saddened by the water crises all over the world. Either there isn’t enough safe drinking water, or the water is being hogged by governments and not distributed among the people, and the water in the ocean is polluted by so many things, especially plastic. On that note, STOP DRINKING WATER OUT OF PLASTIC BOTTLES!
Ahem… Certain herbs are associated with Water. Most flowers, like rose, jasmine, lily, etc. Sandalwood is also a Water incense. Herbs associated with the Moon are commonly also associated with Water, because the Moon governs the waters on Earth.
Tears are Water too. That is why we feel so good after a long cry. Crying tears is healing, as Water is healing. I may go so far as to say that Water is the most healing of all the Elements. It represents dreams, emotions, feelings. Water is cleansing, healing, and can carry away our troubles in the rivers and streams. As most people know, we are 70% Water in our bodies.
During the Waxing phase of the Moon, I make Moon water. It’s simple- fill a clear bottle or jar with water and set it outside in the light of the Moon. Retrieve it before the sun can spoil it with its light. This water is blessed water, charged with the power and energy of the Waxing Moon. Most powerful of all is Moon water made under a Full Moon. You can make Solar water too, just set your jar or bottle out in the sun for a few hours.
Anyway, I hope this blog is of interest to you, and I hope you have learned something new about Water.
Blessed Be.
