Hello to everyone! This is a reminder that NOW is the TIME to make travel and hotel arrangements for the BHIVE (Be HIV Empowered) 2008 social conference being held from Wed. Oct 22nd to Sunday Oct. 26th at the Tahitian Resort on Treasure Island, Florida (Tampa Bay Area). The BHIVE social is a lil more than 2 months away. The time to book flights and travel arrangements, plus to reserve a room at the resort or to post blogs looking for roomies if you want to share expenses. To make your reservations visit www.tahitianresort.com review the layout of the resort and the room prices, however it is highly recomended that you call the resort (1-888-606-5209 US Only, or 1 (727) 360-6264 directly ) to make reservations. The online group code has not been working at all – but if you call the 1 800 # and tell them you are with the BHIVE group they have been giving a 10% discount, they hold a reserved room with a credit card number but do not charge it untill you arrive or if you don't cancel in time. You can cancel a reservation up to 30 days prior to the event w/o any penalties or fees. I'll be honest in saying that rooms in general are booking up fast – for our event and for other guests that go during that time also. For anyone traveling into the Tampa Bay area the two airports are – 1) Tampa International Airport, www.tampaairport.com and 2) St. Petersburg / Clearwater International Airport, www.fly2pie.com for information. Transportation to and from the airports if you are not renting a car can be made by the Super Shuttle group bus service and can range from $20 – $26 depending on what airport you use – more info can be found at www.supershuttle.com . Also there is regular bus service right in front of the Tahitian resort in the form of a "Beach Trolley" just a pimped out trolley looking buses that connect to all the regular bus routes more info on buses and trolleys can be found at www.psta.net .
