Ok, so… Day 2 of my juice fast ;

Last night, I have to be honest, I had a bit of diarrhea. It wasn't bad. I felt lighter but I had a hard time getting to sleep. I dreamt of Mark Ruffalo & me owning a vintage clothing shop. Me dreaming of fabrics is always a good thing.

I got up relatively early, @ 10am. I'm a night owl. I felt OK. Couldn't get enough water. Seriously, I'm a big fan of water but I never drink that much at one time. I've always got this little voice in the back of my mind 'hey, too much will dilute your electrolytes. Go brush your teeth.' Yeah, that's her answer to everything. So, I've had 9 glasses so far & there's another on the coffee table calling my name. After that I'm going to go brush my teeth. I've been upping the amount of cayenne pepper with every glass. Hmm…

I went to Blue Shirt Café again today. Did I tell you they're hiring? It was around 3pm & the place was deserted. I ordered just one juice today. I had the Memory Mambo. Cute name, huh? It's a carrot-apple-beet mixture & it's wonderful. I'd forgotten how much I like beets.

There are a lot of things I don't eat regularly anymore. Do you know how hard it is to find pickled okra in Boston? I'm lucky if they have even one brand of corn meal. Mizithra cheese seems to no longer exist. Good news is that this lack of seemingly "exotic" items has caused me to seek out off the map shops & markets. Privately owned & organic co-ops. Pemberton Market is a 10 minute walk in my neighbourhood & they carry a local beekeepers honey. Oh joy! Let me clarify; most local honey I come across is from Vermont, Maine, Connecticut. This is from Jamaica Plain, 7 miles from my neighbourhood. Honey bees that may have visited the flowers in my garden. I prefer local honey to the Sue-Bee variety because its like an allergy shot you take everyday. Ingesting local honey gives your immune system traces of allergens to spar with. I dated a man who's allergies were so bad in the spring he was a spring of snot & sneezes. Stubborn as he was I talked him into trying a Tbsp of local honey once a day for one month & if his allergies didn't subside I'd drop the whole thing. He tells me he still does it.

I felt a little lightheaded around noon. My 3 hours out braving the cold & rain running errands actually grounded me. I was hungry, still am, off & on. It took a great deal of focus for me today. Walking around Davis & Union Square there are a ton of little sandwich counters all emitting mouthwatering aromas. I found myself going for these doors without even thinking. I was in another market for beeswax & there were pretzels & gourmet mustard samples. I had a pretzel in my hand ready to go for the mustard before I caught myself. I had this strong urge to go brush my teeth. Tonight I've been doing well. Keeping busy. Cleaning my aquariums. Planning for the weekend.

The only complaint I have for today is that I have a tiny sharp stitch in my right side. Comes & goes. I can hear my insides working to make sense of all this. I expect it to smooth out by if not tomorrow, then Sunday. Maybe I'll dream of designing dresses for Queen Victoria tonight. That would be nice.

Gotta go now, that water won't drink itself. Thanks for listening. Leave a comment if you will. It makes me happy.
