I was thinking today.  I have had a rough year.  I had worked for years in the home furnishings trade which for the last year or so has been in the toilet.  People are trying to hold on to their homes, they ain’t decorating them!  Add the HIV diagnoses and about 6 trips to the hospital and moving from an apartment that I really loved to a one room efficency?  Not the best year of my life.

How ever, I should never complain, I have a family who cares (all be it still condeming me to hell for my sinfull life style), a group of good friends who check on me reguarly and a pastor who will get out of bed at any hour of the night to take me to the hospital if I need to be there.

All and all not a bad life compared to many people these days.

I was looking at some web stuff the other day and it costs the average family $8 to $10 per person to fix a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner, and it is to late this year, but next year I am going to talk to my church and start the "I’m Thankfull Campaign."  In it you would donate $10 for each person you would have for Thanksgiving and that money would go to the Pastor\’s Fund which is money the Pastor has to use at his (or hers) discresion to help people who come to the church in need.

I love the theme of the movie Pay it Forward and I see this as a way people can do that.  If you have had help and people that care about you in life, then you should do the same for others. You know, if I know that I have done something to help others I personally don\’t mind eating Mac and Cheese and Hot Dogs for Thanksgiving.  It isn\’t the food, it is the people that make the holiday special.

I hope every one here has a really special day, and if you are in South Florida (Ft Lauderdale/Miami Dade area and you have no place to go I can invite you to join me at my church), and we would be very happy to have you!

Very, Very cool!  No matter what you call it doing for others always benefits you more than doing just for yourself!
