Matthew 11:28- ” Come to me all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

I felt I had to post the above scripture for all of those who are hurting here. As I read the blogs on this site I feel overwhelmed with pain…… just raw and open pain. People reaching out into the darkness hoping they will find a glimpse of light peering through the vast darkness of their tunnels filled with so much despair. We as people were never created to live endlessly in a world of sadness and fear. John 10:10 says “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” The Lord knew that anxiety and depression and all kinds of mental illness would overtake people for generations to come. Matthew 6:25-34 is literally headlined as ” a cure for anxiety in the Holman Christian Standard Bible! Jesus is telling us not to worry and that if we first seek the Kingdom of God that everything we need will be provided to us! If you meditate on these verses and really grasp how powerful they are its kind of a whoa moment! ( At least it was for me:) We DO NOT have to let fear win! We DO NOT have to let depression hold us down! We are blessed people, bought literally by the blood of Christ! I have personally been reaching out to God the past couple of weeks because anxiety has wanted the best of me. I have been a Christian for years and even as a Christian there are times we feel broken, there are times we feel defeated. God always reminds me though that I am bigger than this. God created us to bless us, to give us abundant lives, to live boldly, and to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven! We are warriors!!! Every single one of you reading this…. YOU are a warrior! I may still have anxiety at times and I may still feel down at times but I can know with surety that it wont last forever because I am set free in Christ! You know what? YOU are too:) Maybe you have not accepted that freedom yet but you can! If you are reading this, you can accept that same freedom! You have inherited it! Each one of you who read this….. know this: YOU are beautiful! YOU are wanted! YOU are NOT a mistake! GOD is BIGGER than your fear, BIGGER than your sadness, BIGGER than your doubt, and because God is bigger……. YOU are bigger too!!!! I just felt the need to blog this tonight, to let you know that there IS a light at the end of your tunnel and that light is warm and beautiful and everlasting if you only keep your eyes focused on it. So to all of you who read this please know that you are NEVER alone! Just like Matthew 11:28 says, all you have to do is go to him………. and he will give you rest.
