So here we are lost in the craziness of the Holidays. are you still attending meetings and calling your sponsor on a regular basis? are you actively working the 12 steps? or do you take time off of your recovery to celebrate the Christmas season. this is the time of year where we have to be grateful for the gifts we have been given and not the ones we are going to get. i am getting ready to celebrate my 22nd Christmas and New Year Clean. does that make me special> no it does not. it just means i am dilligent in my Recovery.

A week ago today i had my 3rd heart attack and 4th heart surgery. yes i am okay but need to find a way to relieve the stress and anxiety in my life 24/7. I pray for all of you that you don't treat the holiday any different than any other day in recovery. my disease does not take a day off just because it's Christmas. if it did it would truly make me wonder what kind of doper am i. my disease is active 24/7 365 days a year. Yes i hiope you are adhering to the 12 step program of your choice and have found that this is the way we have to live our lives now. it's time to be true to yourself and your Recovery.

From Cheryl and I may you have a Merry Christmas and best wishes for a fantastic New Year in Recovery. Please remember that Recovery is a Journey not a Destination and use the Rest Stops that God provides along the way. Be sure to reach out to the newcomer. they need you know more than ever. i still need you in my life. stay clean and be good to yourself.

NA hugs and love,

JJ
