Hello again everyone!
I've been missing in action on this site for some time now, so here's some updates…
Today was the first day of my new job!! It was… interesting I guess. Got a bit nervous and all when it was time to lunch with the new people. And all of a sudden, right now I'm a bit nervous about tomorrow… and the work thereafter as well I guess.
The work is … different from what I've done perviously. I used to be a researcher in the lab, now this one is a … mostly administrative job, which also requires me go out and meet people, stakeholders nonetheless, and discuss and debate and defend my proposals and recommendations and all that. Case in point, towards the end of this week I have 4 meetings to attend to, and its only my first week!! Its a government job by the way, which means I can't be too rude and I really have to be careful about the things I say during these meetings.
To be honest, its really daunting. I'm suppose to take over and be the lead officer for a particular project. And I'm also suppose to help another 2 people with their multiple jobs as well. The project that I'm suppose to lead is huge.. I mean.. HUGE.. the division is currently understaffed and its just me and my boss on the project at the moment haha!!
Don't get me wrong, its interesting stuff. Its stuff that I've never done before… and that makes it very daunting as well. Oh well, I'll just have to do my best and hope I'm good enough for the job!!
