Stepping Stone – an action or event that helps one to make progress towards a specified goal.

“This moment is just a stepping stone. A moment that will soon pass me as I take my next step.”

My goal?: Peace and stability. To be able to truly live.

I am not an expert, I am not magic. I am just me.

Anxiety is different for everyone, but we can all agree that it can be rough. Even when we know we will be ok/told we will be ok. During our moments of anxiety/panic that can be difficult to see. Best we can really do is take things one step at a time. And never give up. Remember that we’re not alone.

Advice I was giving by good people, people who love me, those around me:

  • BREATHE and remember that it’s ok that you feel this way. Anxiety, like any other, is an emotion.
  • You are still a person and you need to remember that. [EVERYONE gets anxious!]
  • You have resources to help and you have options.
  • Believe in yourself, believe in life and the future. This will pass and life will always work out. It may not be a smooth/straight road, BUT you can walk it. [You aren’t walking it alone either!]
  • The past is the past. Take the lessons you’ve learned and move forward. What matters is the right now.
  • Remind yourself of the GOOD that can happen as well.
  • You are alive. And that is VERY important.
  • Give yourself special YOU moments/days.
  • Each day is a new day.
  • Time heals. Things, if given time, will get better/heal. Just do what you need to and let time do it’s work.

I know when you are deep in your anxious spiral it can be difficult to take advice like that/do those things. But given time and practice of those things, it gets easier. Our anxiety like every other emotions/thoughts do evolve. [Like things that used to make you mad then, dont now. And how you get mad (what you do about it) is different than how you used to.]

I’ve come to find what helps me when i’m in an anxious moment is to talk with those I love and trust/think about them and things that they’ve told me, do what I know makes me happy (even if im just doing the motions of it. It’s good to do whats familiar.), and redirecting my mind.
