Hi, I just joined and I’ve been upset for a while and I don’t know what to do. My father almost passed away and went from being  in a wheelchair for  2 years and now he’s using a walker. I have been upset because I used to do all kinds of things with him.  I feel like crying so much and hate myself and my new life. I shouldn’t be upset about this problem and I don’t know what to do. Or who to talk to. My sister is always mean to me and says stop crying so much. I don’t mean to be and I’m sorry for that. That’s why I joined and hopefully I can talk to someone on this.

    Hi Readinggirl2

Its very good that you reached out and wrote what you feel about your father. Its shows you want to help yourself which is an important first step.

Think of simple things you can do now with your father. Read him a short poem he may like and then another poem you may like

Try and find things to do that make you peaceful

    “Peace
Silences the nightmares of the mind.
    Peace
Feeds the dreams of the heart.”

    –by Sri Chinmoy

I hope that this helps in some way

    Take care

    Hi ..Readingirl12..
Can you see what the future may hold if you find a hobby or meet a new friend.. try it..
It sounds to me as if your father is slowly improving.. it also important to remember that some times life is no friend to us.. it rushes around and we loose many friends and family members.
Try to remember the happy times together and when the time comes start that new friendship..

Hope the information gave you a little to think about…

Don’t say “I shouldn’t feel this way” because you are totally entitled to feel the way YOU feel! I compare myself to how others feel about an experience and it’s usually different feelings than mine. Try not to compare!

I feel for you, readinggirl. Not only is it okay to cry, it is important for you right now to express these heavy emotions. It is devastating dealing a sick loved one and especially at your young age. Please reach out to a counselor at your school or talk with your teachers. Good luck to you. You are not alone.
