I’m sure many of you know the feeling. Simple tasks become impossible to do when I’m severely depressed.

The other day I  was unable to brush my teeth or shave. I felt paralyzed. I sat in my recliner unable to move.

I just didn’t want to move. Sitting in my own filth was preferable to taking action. It took me over an hour

to get up out of my chair. I was disgusted with myself. The lady I’ve lived with for the past 17-years,as always, helped me move into the bathroom. We were supposed to go to the zoo that day. I was unable to articulate just how much I wanted to be left alone. I began to cry. Would I ever feel better? I had my doubts.  Two hours later I was at the zoo. Linda was at my side. I was beginning to snap out of it after taking my meds. Funny, the caged animals moved about so freely and effortlessly. I was envious.

Another day of doubt and frustration.
