Today after school my friend came over like usual, and as usual we never know what to do. So we're sitting around coming up with a million plans, and we finally figure out something to do, so I leave my grandma a note saying that i'm out with my friend and will be back later. As i am doing that i hear my grandma come in the house. I go out to greet her, and oh my god…she's got tears in her eyes, is very shaky, and has about a tennis sized ball thump above her eye/cheek. I run to her and hug her and ask he what happened. She mumbles she fell..leaving work…ambulance. So I take her to her bedroom, get her shoes off, get a tylenol and ice pack, and water for the pill. She rests on the bed and is very delirious–she really wasn't making much sense. I call my dad-let him know, but he's of course at work and far away..so i ask him what to do. he says to call my aunt/uncle who live near..so i did so and they came over. After some convincing, and discussion they talk her into going to the hospital. We all figured she had a concussion. They do all that while i am with my friend..distracting time, and such. It turns out though that grandma has some bleeding in the brain…not just a concussion. it's also a bad reaction to some of her daily meds. Oh my god had I left like the note said, with my friends just minutes earlier, she would have just been at home on her own..and wouldn't have gone to the hospital. She's now going to be there for days…i am so shocked, and just horrified to see her like that. It's the second time she's come home like that too..she's nearly 80 and working full time. She slipped earlier this year getting off the bus..and this time, she doesn't even know how she fell since she has a concussion. I am so, so thankful i did not leave…she would have been here all alone, and too weak and stubborn to call anyone for help. Almost near tears just writing this..it broke my heart to see her, the strongest, most fierce and passionate women i've ever known, so..weak, and fragile. Kills me, and that image will never go away. Thank gosh she'll should be okay…

Sorry my writing is so off…was kind out of my head while typing it. Hope it is clear at least.
First off thank goodness you were there to help. Its a hell of a thing seeing our loved ones age. It is very strange that I read this a minute after I posted a picture of my late grandfather. It is heart breaking and terrifying to see what you just did. I am so sorry, and I hope for a speedy recovery for your grandma. 80 and still working? That\'s amazing. I guess I know where your fighting spirit comes from now.
