Hello folks. I have yet another rant to drop. I just heard that an official in the Vatican said that it was homosexuality and not celibacy that was the cause of pedophile priests. Excuse me, but this “person” has got the whole thing completely and utterly WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! I have known for years that the numbers have shown that most pedophiles are straight and more than a few have families with children of their own. Or they have been known to get married to ladies who have young children just so they could get closer to the children and everything like that. I think the Catholic Church is in such denial about the whole pedophile priest deal it is unreal. I have seen to much, over the years, about how the Catholic Church has turned a blind eye to so many cases of abuse until it finally exploded in their faces and then they tried everything in the book to make it go away in some way or another without having to accept responsibility for their actions or more precisely inactions. They were warned, way before this whole mess blew up in their faces that if they didn’t do something about it and do it now, they would have an even greater mess than what they would have had if they would have done what they should have in the beginning. They had a report commissioned, by the Vatican, to investigate the whole pedophile priest deal and they were given the report and told that this was going to blow up if they did nothing and they quietly swept the report under the rug and hoped for the best. Now they are trying to put the blame on gays for their own screw-up's and and mess. Well I have very, very, very bad news for them. The gay community is not to blame for their own mess. They knew, for decades, if not longer, of pedophile priests and did nothing but shuffle them around from parish to parish and let it happen again and again and again. They are just hoping it goes away, but the only way the people, male and female, are going to get the Catholic Church, or any other religious organizations it seems like, to acknowledge their own mistakes is to hit them where they will feel it the most and that is in their collective pocket books. I have no idea how much the Catholic Church or the Vatican has, monetarily speaking, but if that is the only way they will even acknowledge anything happened then that is what they have left the victims of the abuses by both the priests and the church itself. These people don’t necessarily want the money of the church, they just want the church to acknowledge what it did wrong and correct it. Until that happens there will still be much mistrust, in this persons opinion, of the Catholic Church and any other religion that is so rigorous in it’s rules.
