Back in to my work rotations. Tired because getting up at 5 to go to work at 7 just didn't work out for me that well. It often doesn't. I feel better at work, mainly because I get to connect with my co-workers, chat about nothing, etc.

On the other hand, I'm usually tired throughout the work day and I constantly have to check myself, because the people I work with are the same age range as I am, make the same income, but are, without exception, much more into the middle-class, middle-aged mind frame. So, I have to watch my P's and Q's if I want a good working condition.

I want to argue with the guy that is complaining about his taxes after he moved into a house that was 75% more expensive than his last house, the guy who bought himself an entry level (but still damn expensive) Mercedes, a guy who wants to hang with the country club up the river, but I won't. I don't need the grief.

Anyhow, it's about time to take a snooze pill (just a little drowse inducing over the counter product). I've been using it for about 6 years on my first night shift (which starts tonight). It makes my 12 hours easier; makes it so much easier to be awake and alert at 4 in the morning. I used to throw cold water in my face, do jumping jacks and slap my face to stay awake when I was in my twenties and thirties. But even that stopped working when I was getting into my forties. I also find that getting a good sleep before a shift stops a lot of my mood shifts brought on by shiftwork.

So, hope everyone is good out there, take care of yourselves and

Peace

Shift work is hard on the body.  It messes with the circadian rhythm.
