HelloTribe family and friends, it has been a while since I have beeen on. A lot has happened since i posted here on my 23rd year clean birthday. as people who know me know i used to live in AZ. well my wife Cheryl applied for a job with a company in Hawaii. they called her back and offered her an even higher paying job as a manager for the largest Insurance Company in Oahu, Hawaii. if those of you who do not know me I have over 200 blogs on my site with suggestions for Recovery. Cheryl and I have been together for 12 years now coming up on our 10th wedding anniversary in May. let's go back a bit to October 30th i had a major staff infection in my groin and spent 8 days in the hospital, had surgery to drain it and clean the crap out. then the job offer came the 2nd week of November. it was hurry up and get your S#@t together type move. we had 2 yard sales, i had to sell my Grand Cherokee. We did not have enough money to move around the block let alone to Hawaii. so a dear friend of mine in Recovery loaned us the money to pay for our household goods to be shipped out and our plane tickets. we paid another $900.00 to ship my wife's car. we got to Honolulu 12/12/12….we could not find a place to live. we stayed in Hotels and ate out everynight for 5 weeks, praying to God to open some more doors. two days before our stuff arrived we found a house on the north shore of the island. called Kaneohe. we rented a WWII Quonset hut made into a 3bdr house. i started going to NA meetings the 3rd day we were here. I called the NA hotline and met a guy who drives a cab here and he would take me to meetings. I met an old friend from my NA days back in Alaska. we went to the same high school just a year apart from graduating.

So JJ is still alive working towards my 24th year clean attending meetings. i left all my sponsee's behind but they have my phone number. My sponsor Charlie D. in Montana is dying and could go at anytime. please put him in your prayers he is a great man. this move to Paradise is all a God thing. My spirituality is at an all time high. I am playing the guitar at least 1 to 2 hours a day. still 100% disabled, but I have applied for a part time Radio DJ job at the oldies station here and we shall see what God has planned for that. I do want to say thanks to all who have been concerned about me, and i really want to thank Amy L. for helping us and my older brother Joe for lending me some cash when i needed it. we made it through the hard part now it's on to living in shorts and a tank top 24/7 365 days a year. the 21st annual Hawaii Regional convention will be held in Hilo HI on the main Island in October. look up www.NA-Hawaii.org for registration information……..

I hope you are all still clean, and i will try to get on here and help who ever I can. i do not have all the answers and sometimes i don't even know what the question was but together we can figure it out. Remember Recovery is a Journey not a Destination and use the rest stops God provides along the way.

Aloha, and big NA hugs,

JJ
