Serendipitous

Two nights ago I responded to a CL ad for “just drinks” and went to Side Trak to meet this guy. It took me 10 minutes longer then agreed but I got there.  He didn’t send me his photo or his digits but he had mine.

So, as I’m just walking around Side Track, there’s a nice enough guy snuggling up to his drink alone (Yeah, this is how I met Raphael- the secret) so I said “Hi….”

We hit it off big time!!  He’s also a Star Trek Fan (you can tell by my My Space page that I am), likes cats (his cat’s name is Mimi), we have the same taste in music and oh so much!!  Heck, he honestly laughed at my corny jokes and that’s a major bonus!  The age difference was no thing for him (me either!!) and we even slow danced to some slow show tune music.

We spent the night talking until the wee hours and keeping true to my new rule “No sex on a 1st date) we didn’t do anything more than be friskee with each other.

Suddenly, while getting dressed, he drops the bomb about how he HATES Chicago  (he moved here for an “EX” and had an interview with Emirate Airlines in London the next day.  “I’ll give up my citizenship if I get this job” and that’s the last we spoke.

Wednesday, at work, one of the front desk people (I kinda like this guy and he) stressed how much he wanted to go out when the shop closed at 10pm.  I was on the way home at my ending time of 3pm and agreed to meet him out.

We had a blast! Bar hopping from Little Jim’s to Bucks then Sidetrack where we came across more of our co workers (one guy who knows me but I’ve never seen MADE OUT LIKE KRAZY).   Since the guy I started out with was hungry and wanted to eat, Nookies was closed and I wanted to head farther north towards home, we parted.

I know it won’t be awkward seeing him at work on Monday but it did leave me with a mixed feeling.  A totally unexpected one at that.
