So, I love video games. Like a lot. And recently, there’s a game that was the same game, but added more content and better development of characters. That game is called “Persona5 Royal”
Now you may be wondering as to why this game changed me. Well, as good as the original P5 was, Royal expanded on the story and made something that really makes me think.
And there will be HUGE SPOILERS in this, so you’ve been warned.
Anyways, basically the story of P5R (Persona5 Royal) is about changing the hearts of those with distorted thoughts/desires. To put it simply, the plot is about the Phantom Thieves and their leader with code-name “Joker”, they go into the metaverse, which is another world different from the real world. In the metaverse there is something called a “Palace” which is a distorted vision of what someone sees themselves as. So, for example, the first one, who’s a gym teacher at the school, sees the school as a castle. And thinks himself as a King who is above all other humans. The main goal of the Phantom Thieves is to steal the core of their desires, which is their treasure, and steal it. And once they steal it, that person will have a “Change of heart” and confess their crimes. And this goes on throughout the entire game. But, in Royal, it adds a new chapter to the story. And basically what happens is that someone is controlling the real world, and making it into a reality where everyone is happy. Whether it be no pain, granting wishes, and wanting what’s best for everyone. But the reality is false. For instance, one of the character’s mom was originally dead. And now in the new reality that the person made, it made the character’s mom come back to life. And, although that’s great, it’s not really worth a reality that’s worth living in. If there was a world where everyone was happy and everything was perfect, there wouldn’t be anything to learn from. It would be the same feeling over and over. He tried to reform an unfair world by acting on his own justice, albeit a misguided one.
And I know some people on here would want to live a better life, one without pain, one without suffering, and people here want to be someone else sometimes. But, the reality is that we have to choose our decisions that stand for our own “justice”. We can’t just outrun our problems, we have to face them and give it all we’ve got until the very end. Don’t let others control you, make your own stance and stand up and fight for your justice…..
