I have made a effort to try to like one of my adult childrens significant other.     I have tried for nearly 3 years.

My son told me tonight that he plans on proposing to her soon.   He has bought the ring and has had it altered already.

I replied something to the effect of “how exciting” …

I really don’t care for her.

The challenge is learning how to be fake and say the right things.

Maybe if I have to be around her, I could knit a project really tightly with tiny needles!

I am naturally a genuine person so being fake is a challenge.

I could buy generic greeting cards to qualify for communication.

I hope he changes his mind.
