Hello Everyone, I am curious… what do you do to distract yourself from a craving, before you give in to it?

My name is Iris and I struggle with Alcohol, Nicotine and Marijuana, mostly with the drinking,,,

I am down from 11 – 18 drinks a day to about two a day, Some days even none! …and just two cigarettes. …So I am making progress. 🙂  This is easiest when the house is completely dry (duh).

FYI – That is one bottle of wine ( 6-8 ? ) and a small glass of vodka ( 3 or 6 ), One in the morning and one in the evening.  I just recently measured this glass, and was surprised to learn that it is far more than one ounce, it is three!!

Q – Do you use music, food, movement, a different drink ( think unsweetened and non-caffeine ) to replace your drink of choice? Tea?
or
Does getting out of the house do the trick? On your feet and moving…maybe a set of push-ups or sit-ups? It is hard for me to think about drinking when I am counting and breathing hard.  Bob the dog has been getting lots and lots of walks recently, which he really likes. 🙂
