On behalf of the staff and volunteers of Okaloosa AIDS Support and Informational Services, Inc., (OASIS) we extend an invitation for you to join us for the 18th Annual Positive Living Conference.While the agenda is still in the planning stage, we can assure you that the weekend will shape up to be a great educational opportunity, as we reflect on our collective history and our continued journey. We are all aware of the tough struggles the HIV/AIDS community faces in today’s landscape.
The Positive Living experience is the backbone for the Positive Living Conference each year. As we prepare for Positive Living 18 we are mindful of our audience. We like to refer to the audienceas our family because ourultimate goal is to bring people together to share and expand their knowledge and their contacts. Positive Living provides a safe space to mingle. providing everyone who so desires an opportunity to engage in dialog and strategy building. While there is a heavy emphasis on advocacy training, we make sure to offer educational opportunities on treatment options, prevention services, the impact of the affordable healthcare act, and other pertinent information on many subjects by bringing togetherrecognized experts in these fields with the people whose life's experiences provides the evaluation of what is working and what is not working. It is all about empowerment and learning to build viable networks to strengthen each person's ability to tackle HIV/AIDS both personally and collectively. We welcome each of you to Positive Living 18 and the inviting shores of the Emerald Coast in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Our home base is once again the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort where General Manage Joe Guidry and his staff goes out of their way to make us feel at home. We look forward to a great conference, renewing old friendships,while making new friendships.
It is more important than ever that we all find our voice and speak up for the things we critically need to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Please commit to join the fight this weekend if you haven’t already. The more voices speaking out, the better chance of being heard. We are counting on you to make Positive Living 18 one of the BEST conferences ever.
We look forward to once again welcoming you to beautiful Fort Walton Beach, FL and catching up with “our family.” If you have never been able to attend our annual conference we hope this will be the year we get to know you, and welcome you to the family.
PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS WILL ONCE AGAIN BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR PERSONS WHO ARE HIV+ , IF DESIRED PLEASE INDICATE ON APPLICATION, SEND IN YOUR PART OF COST, AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO OFFER THEM AS LONG AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE. IF WE RECEIVE YOUR REQUEST AND YOUR PORTION OF COST AFTER THEY HAVE ALL BEEN FILLED WE WILL CONTACT YOU.
