I spent the day catching up with two old friends. i have been home bound for so long. that i decided to get out and hang out.we talked,we laughed and my anxiety felt invisible at that time…..Then on the drive home it started to hit me..im alone in my car. im starting to feel the effects of going hours without eating.headache, fatigue, and stomach pain. I know that there is nothing wrong with me. but my anxiety takes over me and I start having anxious thoughts. what if there is something wrong with..what if im sick. i stopped and ordered a plate of food and talked to my boyfriend on the phone to distract my mind for a while. as soon as i made it home, hung up the phone,i washed my hands and i tried to eat. the thoughts came back. my food started to look less apitiezing and my anxious thoughts came back. i forced myself to eat by focusing on how good my food looks and smells. I also turned on the tv and really tried to focus on what i was watching..this worked for a while untill i went to the bath room to wash my hands.I started starring at myself in thr mirror looking fof any signs of sickness. My ocd started to take over me. i had to make myself get out of the bathroom. I sfarted to tell myself mentally i trust in god and he will take care of me. be anxious for nothing. god is in control. have faith. i have to remember that these are just thoughts. they can not harm me. i can choose to believe them or just accept them and watch them come and go with out judging or interacting with them.im trying but sometimes i get stuck in my head.

That’s why I’m here. My tools range from innovative new mind-body modalities (e.g., Energy Psychology) to the most ancient spiritual/energetic modality (shamanic healing). These tools enable me to help clients address most of the problems that licensed mental health professionals do – plus some they can’t. And usually do it more efficiently.
This is the main reason I almost always have one or more licensed therapists as clients. See the testimonials on my website.

Struggling with how much your world has changed in such a short time? Feeling anxious, on edge, and uncertain? If your anxiety has been triggered by current events, you are certainly not alone. But in some ways, that makes it harder. Everyone is worried and hurting, including you. You can also feel it tapping into some old stuff, magnifying how lousy you feel. You have worked so hard in your life to feel in charge and on top of things but now feel out of control and helpless. It's not a good feeling. Even worse, your usual coping mechanisms -- going to yoga class, getting coffee with a co-worker, or throwing yourself into work -- have been taken away for now. There's no real end in sight and you're not sure what to do.
We understand how awful that feels and want to help. The therapists at Nova Terra Therapy work both online and in-person to help clients like you to identify and deal with both old and new anxiety triggers. We use a variety of approaches but are particular fans of blending cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and EMDR. Using this combination, we help you to get at what's happening in both your mind and your body when it comes to anxiety-provoking or traumatic events. We've found that these two heavily-researched evidence-based treatments are particularly effective at giving our clients efficient, long-standing relief.

Life is too often a roller coaster ride. Relationships that often leave us feeling tired, frustrated, and confused. If that's where you find yourself - call me. We will work together and we will exhale together. You will regain your confidence and your joy.

Together we’ll merge the best creative and scientifically-based tools that work for you. With this in mind, I like to take an active and practical supporting role in helping you work through the crud and achieve your goals. For those seeking a more “give it to me straight” approach, I’m your gal. My preference is to keep it real, honest, and true, while also holding safe space for you to feel comfortable being your most honest and vulnerable self. This isn’t a ‘sit and listen’ type of counseling. Instead, I’ll be asking you to take real, and sometimes difficult, action in order to work through your challenges. I’m all about offering various choices, strategies, and ideas, so you may find what feels best for you.
