Hi, I’m Alec. I’m a teenager. I’m dealing with depression, social anxiety, general anxiety, LGBTQ+ issues, family problems, addiction, and 15+ phobias.

My everyday life, is hell. I wake up, but I don’t get out of bed. My parents get mad at me for that. I get ready for school, with 5 min to get into the car. I get into my block 1 class with a minute to spare. I go though school, not wanting to go home. My parents leave me alone, but they really don’t.

I’m not social, I don’t have friends. I only do my homework and talk when someone talks to me.

I don’t have help, and I feel like no one notices.

I need help, but I can’t get any.

Hey Alec, it’s nice to meet you. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with so much; it sounds like you’ve been feeling trapped by life which is hard. I know it’s tough talking to your parents, but maybe you could ask them about getting therapy. If you feel really uncomfortable talking to your parents you can always talk to your school counselor who won’t say anything to them unless they believe you will cause harm to yourself or others (in which care they’re legally obligated to say something). It varies from counselor to counselor so I’d just talk to them about it first. If not, there’s many people would love to try and help here. Everyone deserves to be seen and heard, I hope you can find some help here.

Thanks, I’ve been going to therapy but I feel as if its not working and I’ve lost hope with therapy. I’m trying to get better, I’ve been trying to make an effort but I feel as if my efforts are being wasted. I I don’t really have the energy to do it anymore. So I am stuck.

Hi, it is nice to meet you! Thank you for sharing your feelings on this forum. It sounds like you are experiencing a lot of complex feelings at the moment. It takes a lot of courage to admit you need help. I encourage you to try opening a dialogue with your parents about getting into therapy. You are valued and worthy of getting the help deserve.
