On June 9th, 2017, i was informed in a staff meeting about three of my co-workers breaking the rules. Here’s what happened –

Every Friday, all of the staff gets pizza. One worker (A) was permitted to use her vehicle to get the pizza, while another worker (B) was prohibited from leaving. Instead of listening to our boss, A and B decide to leave together. Our boss has no clue about B’s whereabouts, so he starts checking the other rooms. In the pottery room, he asks the worker (C) if B has been in there with her. C lied and said yes, B was there with her when he wasn’t. Our boss checked the security cameras, which showed no signs of B in the pottery room with C. Because of A, B and C’s trickery, ALL of the workers are banned from leaving the premises for any reason other than pick-up by a parent/guardian.

It took a lot of will-power and fist-clenching to not scream at the trio of idiots for abusing their priviledges. I understand that there will always be people with low IQ’s that somehow have a job, but to stoop this low is disgusting. We (the staff) are minors. More specifically, we range from 14-17, thus the adults are responsible for us. If A and B were injured or possibly killed for any reason, our boss would be sued – maybe even arrested – for not keeping an eye on us at all times.

All of the other staff members signed up solely to get the graduation hours required, but I didn’t. I signed up to help others and contribute to my community – the graduation hours are a bonus. If it was my choice, I’d send A, B and C home permanently with no hours earned and a phone call home.

I am gobsmacked that this event occurred, and I swear down on my life that I will do whatever it takes to prevent a co-worker from breaking the rules voluntarily. Our boss does NOT deserve this treatment. He hired us to watch over kids – KIDS for God’s sake! – and this is how my co-workers repay him for the opportunity they were handed on a silver platter. He intended to hire respectable and responsible teens, but got a rowdy rabble of brats instead. Im ashamed of my co-workers for this, and I hope it never happens again.

Sorry for the rant, my anger got the best of me today.
