She spent all of her childhood longing, for the love of that one true friend

Someone to stand beside her, someone who’s there till the end

Through the problems she’d have, and the good times to share

Someone she thought would really care

Simply for her, not for what she could do, or what she could give

       Did that kind of love really exist? She wasn’t sure until the day

Some of God’s people came her way and told her about the love

That He has for us, no matter what we’ve been through

His was the love that would always be true

A kind of love that this little girl never knew

Was she afraid? Absolutely. Did she think it was real—she wasn’t sure….but she knew something had to change. So, with a lot of fear in her heart….and butterflies inside, she took that chance, and prayed that prayer. For the first time in her life, she felt a love she didn’t comprehend. A love that she that she knew would never end. Finally, for one of the first times in her life, she actually felt the love, the love of a true friend.
