    Nikkish,

Ask yourself are you treating yourself like your own best friend?

Also, do you love you? If you can’t love yourself, no one else can is a expression I think of when I feel discouraged.

What could you do for yourself to make you even feel a little better?

I find lighting scented candles, improving my environment, eating a favorite food, wearing favorite materials/ in favorite

      …. clothes is helpful.

Do you have a plant? If so take really good care of it. Trim the leaves if you see dark spots on the tips of the leaves, and check the soil with your finger tips before watering to see his much water it needs. It can be soothing and mood up lifting.

Accept that you feel down and don’t fake it till you make it. Be real! Validate how you feel and think accepting thoughts that is okay to feel down sometimes. If we were never sad, how would we know the difference of being content or discouraged.

Make a list of bare minimum tasks you have to do when you feel discouraged.

Now, make a list of above and beyond things you can do another day when you feel less discouraged.

My bare minimum list on discouraged days looks like this

      -shower

      -drink water

      – eat food

      – take good care of pets and plants

      – be my own best friend (think kind, accepting and loving thoughts

      – move body some

      – put on going out in public clothes and go outside for one minute at least

      – go to bed as early

-accept that it is okay to feel discouraged and that your feelings are valid

      -take out garbage

-load dishwasher and unload if you have one or hand wash dishes and put them away

-write down or think of 3 to 5 things you are grateful for and are good in your life

      – make it a goal to follow the “above and beyond list” plus bare minimum list the next day

Here is some above and beyond list ideas

-get showered, put on favorite clothes and make hair look nice, put on face improvements, maybe even a wear vision contacts!

      – open windows and blinds

      -light scented candles

      – move body for 30 minutes in some planned way (84 can be fun). The word exercise is so dreadful I don’t use it.

      – wear a favorite color and favorite material

      – find a way to brighten someone else’s day

-treat yourself with respect, compassion, kindness, patience, and trust your instincts with people and in general

-partake in a good book, a hobby etc

-improve your environment in little or big ways (put away laundry or even plan or start a bigger task like painting a room.) Yesterday, I dumped out my sock drawer and took out orphan socks for example plus the basis tasks list.

Lacey is right. Her indication was to start small.
Sometimes our emotions can be so overwhelming we get paralyzed.
You may be unable to do most anything. But there are basics to do to survive.
You need water and you need food.
Not eating can scramble your emotions.
When I get very low I make a cup of hot tea.
I take a minute to myself, a break from life.
      I give myself a minute.
Then like Lacey said I do what is necessary.
Maybe you can write a blog about how you are feeling and what made you feel like that.
By doing this you can contemplate the triggers.
      I wish you well. Hugs!!
