My name is Randy Wallin. I have dealt with major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety for over 30 years. I am almost 50 now and when I think of how much of my life depression & anxiety has stolen, I get sad.
I went through the usual mental health solutions, after trying almost every antidepressant known, I found out the hard way that my illness was refractory or hard to manage.
I am still on antidepressants and I practice bibliotherapy. I first studied mindfulness, it helped, and I still use some of the techniques but for me it didn’t solve my problems. I stumbled across cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and this really helped more than anything I’ve tried.
So just like life, my journey is up and down but I am finally working toward that illusive light at the end of the tunnel.
