Hey. So does anyone ever feel prescenses? Or feel like there is something near them? Ive been on and off Cymbalalta lately.. and I just dont feel like its really helping any… so sometimes I will take it.. and sometimes I wont.. or sometimes when I take it.. I will just take a lower dosage then my normally prescribed high dosage… lately.. Ive been feeling stuff.. Ive actually seen some stuff before.. and Ive gone to religious counseling for these 'experiences'.. But im just wondering if anyone else who has bipolar.. or Bipolar Hypomania disorder.. sees or feels things of the supernatural? Example: The other day I was in my moms bed.. (at her house) talking on the phone..and someone kept like peeking their head around the corner.. nobody was there except for my dad..who was downstairs..and I knew it was a female.. it was like she was spying on me.. or eves dropping..but wanted me to know about it..*sighs* Another example would be of when I was getting out of my boyfriends car.. and I opened the door to say hi to his son in the back seat.. I could of swore.. I had a flash back of a dead woman in the back seat of his car… behind his son… of course I dont tell him these things.. because it would obviously freak him out.. but Im just wondering if im the only one? Or maybe being bipolar has something to do with all of this? Im just not totally sure.. Anyone else? ————————————————————–

Hi lostangel. Have you read my story? It's in the Experiences section entitled the Revelation. No. You are not alone. And don't think yourself as crazy or anything like that.
I've had seen flashbacks too. At least, that's what I call them. Even got to the point that these spirits, elementals and what-nots would either ask for help or would want me to join them.
Hell. Yes.
And I don't really care anymore if somebody would read this and tell me I'm schizo. People who say that are people who do not really understand us. And because we are given this "gift", I think we are also given a wider understanding and tolerance for those who don't have it.
Learn how to use and control it. Or, if you do not want to see them or deal with them anymore (like me!), power of prayers can help. Surround yourself with a bright white light always. And from the moment you wake up, say an affirmation that you are one of the light and no one of the dark will harm or bother you.
I am here if you need someone to talk to. I know it is sometimes difficult to deal with these things. It can drive you mad.

im bp 1 , seems to me what ur describing is a phycotic episode, i have had 2 and both time without meds, meds will not help if not takin at prescribe dose, alot of bp folks have those kinds of episodes, its not ur crazy , its a chemical imbalance in your brain, that is what meds are givin for, i would tell ur doc asap, and comply to meds, when u are properly medicated they might just go away, if they dont then id consider the supernatural, or spiritual, have you read about manic episodes, pthycotic episodes, , bp runs in our family , my brother has also seen and heard voices, he unlike me wont comply with meds, This is only my opinion, i hope i didnt offend you in any way, also im not right a whole lot, lol, Dane ————————————————————–

I have this happen to me too. It scares me sometimes but most of the time it's okay. I don't tell people that this happens. When I told my psychietrist about it he said that it was just psychotic episodes and put me on meds for it, but it still happened to me. I personally think that it's a psychic thing. I know you guys prolly think I'm a loonitic after reading that, but it's what I think. But yah you aren't alone.

lost angel….no thats not weird at all…at least you see something…which is absolutely fascinating…..and i constantly feel that someone is following me around everywhere…..i even get nightmares about this person in black hood chasin after me….calling my name and promising he will make things better in my ruined life….. because when im scared at night thats all thats on my mind and i suppose thats what triggers my nightmares…….but the nightmares are pretty dreadful themselves…..sometimes i do believe some kind of spirit spies on me 24×7……its insane i know….but i cant help feeling it its just too real……i hear weird noises that no one else around me hears……i believe in supernatural things……things that are unseen….but some have the power to see or may be feel it |

iv read and watched stuff about people who experience the kind of things you do. i believe in the supernatural and spirits and all that. from what iv read and watched, take it or leave it, everyone has some kind of psychic ability. it's just natural. i think some people's psychic abilities are stronger than others' though. so… some people are just born with this innate ability and other people have to practice and hone theirs. i think if i had the ability to see spirits and was frightened of them, id try to kind of just incorporate it into my everyday life and attempt to accept it. im not sure if im underestimating the real fear people can get from seeing these kind of things, but i guess the logical thing to do would to maybe try to confront them or just accept their presence. maybe the flashback thing was an image of something that occurred in the past. if you're scared of the possibility of what you're seeing are ghosts, you should try reading up on it. iv read a lot about it and watched a lot of stuff and now i believe they're as real as anything else. they're just people who died suddenly or prematurely or violently or something, from what iv heard. so i guess i consider them to be more natural than supernatural. iv seen a lot of people who have or had experiences like that, one in particular was actually tested to see if she had some kind of mental illness, and there was nothing wrong with her. so i guess don't go right to thinking there's something wrong with you because it's more common than you might think.

well, this could be the psychosis element of bipolar making you hallucinate. or it could be that you are seeing ghosts. i've seen them most of my life. i am inclined to believe that when we walk a mental path that is a bit outside the ordinary we are somewhat more sensitive to them. but i would never rule out the idea that it could be that i'm crazy. 😉
i find it helps to talk to them. ghosts like being acknowledged. of course, if they're hallucinations then current medical wisdom is that you ought not engage with them – although increasingly that is being challenged. the key thing is whether these prsences are distressing to you. if they are infrequent and you can live happily with them, you needn't do anything at all. if they are upsetting it's worth getting your meds checked and going from there. wishing you peace and strength.xxx ————————————————————–

one more thing to make your life even more complicated (ahahah!):
distinguish which ones are real and distinguish which are not real (the products of your condition).
spiritual guidance might help- if you believe in it.
either way, if you don't really want to deal with these ghosts or whatever… i know i don't… then just learn how to protect yourself and ignore them.
