You often hear people say “nothing will ever change”, god I hate that phrase!
It’s a phrase I once said to myself about my mental health, nothing will ever change, I’ll always feel like this’, and of course in the fog I couldn’t see how wrong I was.
When we talk about mental health, we mean the health of the mind at any given moment in time, and lord knows our minds change often enough! The fact is things will change, they already are changing. As each day passes you experience new things, grow a little more, learn another new thing. That is just human nature!
Coming to this realisation was a big step for me, because it gave me hope! That hope was the first thing I needed to get my life back on track. There is an awesome power in the phrase “tomorrow is a brand new day”, that power brings optimism with it. Optimism is, in my opinion, the biggest tool in the mental health toolbox!
