They laugh loudly. I can hear them. They laugh from out on the street. Everytime the street light goes out, they scream and laugh. They go back inside and drink and laugh and have fun. They smoke some weed and laugh about nothing. They kiss a boy. They tell each other stories about the boys they have kissed and had sex with. They laugh. The drink more, smoke more. They take a sobriety test and try to walk a straight line down the middle of the road, using the white lines as direction. They fail. They laugh. They drink more. They walk to a neighbouring suburb while laughing, drinking. Meet up with a family friend. He's drunk and high. She tells him how the others' father said he was going to bash him. He gets mad and runs to the house to fight. She's scared. She runs the opposite direction. She knows she shouldn't have said anything. Its 2am. It starts to rain. She keeps walking. The heat from her skin causes her glasses to fog. She walks down a dark unlit road. When she sees headlights she jumps into the bushes to hide. She's not laughing. She keeps walking. Up a hill. She's wet and cold and hot all at the same time. A taxi pulls over. She tells the driver that she has no money. The driver tells her its fine. She gets in the cab. Drunk and high. She is tired. She closes her eyes for a few minutes. A tear falls. The driver stops in a dark area by the water. He leans over and tries to kiss her. She says no. She has to leave. He tries to touch her breast. She is scared, drunk and high. She scrambles out the cab. She walks into town. its 3am. She finds a bus shelter. She lays on the seat and weeps. A cop car stops, looks, and keeps going. She see's a newspaper delivery van deliver the news. it's 6am. She calls home. She is cold wet, and hungover, and still a little drunk. Her mum comes picks her up from town. She gets home. She cries and does not laugh.
