The little girl
Sat on a bench
Lonely, hurt
Without her friends
She watched a balloon float away
Like all her friends, it didn’t stay
They hurt inside and were scared enough to try
She never got to say goodbye
It’s cold
But the moon shines bright
It’s the only thing that illuminates
The monsters who come out at night
They gather round her
Stepping close
They take her words
Leave her alone
Her screams, they never make it through
