Ok, I am freaking out. My Dr. doubled the dosage on my meds 6 days ago and I have been so nuts since then.  I am taking enough drugs that my dresser looks like a pharmacy table anyway. So apparently the increased meds were causing the problem. My Dr. said go to the ER. STUPID me did exactly that.

I was there for a psych evaluation. When I was taken to a room a very hateful tech told me to undress down to my underwear and surrender my clothes. I was not, nor am I now, suicidal or homocidal. I told three different people that. So when I ignored the b*tc#y tech she left. The Dr. came in, checked my thyroid , listened to my heart and lungs and told me he was gonna order blood work. He was not the least bit perturbed by my clothing.

Guess who showed up next and demanded I get naked and surrender my clothing? Yes, three big burly security guards!  They all came in the cubicle with their arms crossed . I stood up abruptly, and they said WAIT! We will leave the room first. Have I mentioned that I am fat? Yes, I am and the hospital gown they gave me was one that might fit AN ANOREXIC CHILD.  Never the less I gathered my belongings, stormed out and did something I have never done before…I called the tech a b*tch in a very loud voice. No points for classy behavior but very satisfying! The security jerks didn't realize I was leaving until I was already going out the door.

When my husband called back to speak with a patient rep. They wanted to know what kind of car we were in, where we lived (they had my address) what street we were currently on and if we were going home. So now I am not only mad but extremely paranoid!!!

I hate stupid hospitals!

-Boston-….sounds like your having a really bad time. I think the best thing to do is to get on the phone with the doctor that has prescribed all of this medication and tell him/her exactly what is going on. I'm also going through a medication change right now, and it can be hard. Alot of times SSRI's need weeks to work, so you are going to have to be patient. But with that said your doctor has to know that you feel very bad right now and maybe your problem is being magnified by the medication. I wish I had some better advise than that. Try to do somethings today to make yourself feel better, walk, meditate, listen to music, watch a movie, do whatever works for you to assist feeling better. Don't wait for Monday, have them page your doctor on call. Be well, I'm pulling for you.

Thanks so much! I have been busy canning veggies and working in my garden. Apparently my Dr. arrived at the hospital right after I left and had already called in orders for lab work only and that I was to be processed as an out patient!

She is urging me to call the grievance committe at the hospital. She has made an appt. to speak with them on Monday morning.

They sent the police to my home today to see if I was unstable. I was neck deep in the beans and tomatoes. They just shook their heads  and apologized for taking up my time. I sent them on their way with a basket of tomatoes and finished my chores!

I have an appt. with a different Dr. this  next week. My Dr. isn;t as informed about OCD as I would like. She will remain my primary care Dr. but I am seeing a specialist on Wed.

Thanks for your good advice and also for letting me vent! Have a blessed day!
