I've met someone. She's an artist who lives in London, not far from where I'm starting my new job on Tuesday as it happens. We've been seeing each other for a few weeks now and we're totally head-over-heels in love with each other! It's amazing how refreshing it is to be in a normal relationship for a change.

We met on a dating site (which is a whole other blog all on it's own – those places are screwed up in so many ways!) and met for a quiet drink. We instantly just clicked. We have very different pasts but we're also very much alike in more ways than I can count. She's let me see a lot of the art around her flat and she's pretty talented – she does painting and video installations. Put her artistic ability together with my technical wizardry, I think we could come up with something pretty special together.

She recently admitted to me that she suffers from bi-polar disorder and that she's been hospitalised in the pass because of it. She also says that after fine-tuning her medication and dosage she's been symptom-free for three years now and her doctors describe her as a bi-polar success story. She's a positive person, upbeat and fun to be around, knows all the best spots in the city and has promised to take me out to the private art showings next month. Apparently her friends just can't wait to meet me.

Makes me wonder how different life with my BDD-inflicted ex could have been if only she'd put some effort into her treatment and some faith in her therapists. Never mind, that's all up to her now. And it always was before too. Maybe she did me a favour by ditching me because I haven't been this excited about life for a very long time.
