FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!

I received a phone call from the Surgeon General of the Navy, Admiral Robinson. He informed me that around 6pm Wednesday night, the Secretary of the Navy signed a lifetime designation, granting me inpatient/outpatient care and prescription drug coverage free of charge for HIV related care.  On Thursday, Senator Nelson's office emailed a letter that they received from the Secretary of the Navy, so
I have seen written confirmation for what I was told by the Surgeon General of the Navy.

I have been blogging and asking for help in the form of letters etc., in getting back the care that I had been promised when I was diagnosed with HIV at the age of 10. I want to thank all of you who have supported me with kind words of encouragement and most importantly, letters of support to your congressional rep./senator and/or Navy officials.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Without the help and words of encouragement that I have received from my congressional Representative Tom Feeney or Senator Nelson and so many many many other people throughout this fight I would never have been successful in getting the treatment that was promised to me restored.
I hope that this can serve as an example that the little guy or gal can win!! Never give up! Never give in! Just keep fighting for what is right….I believe that in the end right can prevail! And in this case it clearly did.  Remember that together wonderful things can happen and we can make a difference.

If you want to know more about my fight with the Navy, how I was infected, etc. please visit my blog! It is alllll there 🙂  Also, you can view the follow-up story by going to the following link and search “richelle starnes”: http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/myfox/ Words could never fully express my level of gratitude to those who have helped and rooted for me.  But thank you all again!
