Reduced quality of life is common for those suffering from illness whether it be physical or mental. In my case I suffer physically and mentally. I’m under a lot of stress because of physical illness, and I would love a glass of wine to take the edge off. However, I take psychiatric medications that my doctor says drinking is highly recommended, so I haven’t drank in five years. I used to take Valium, but I don’t like that. Recreational drugs are not an option for me because it’s not my style also in short term I feel really good, but then afterwards I become mentally unstable. I am wondering what my options are, should I pursue a new hobby, exercise, take a walk, start vaping again, or take an anxiety medication? I wonder what other people do in my situation. I just want to be healthy physically and make the best choices I can for my mental health as well. I am open minded, and I would love suggestions. I suffer from gastroparesis and schizophrenia if anyone is wondering.
